The Princess Caroline Bowl Burnham Week 2018

The Princess Caroline Bowl for RS Elites in this year's Burnham Week was won by Paul Fisk's Legs Eleven, RS Elite 110, with two first places and one second, crewed, in addition to Paul, by Caroline Fisk and Richard Tucker. In close second place was Moonlight Serenade, RS Elite 68 (one first, one second and one fourth place), helmed by Richard Bavin and crewed by Richard Turner and Angus Kennedy. Third place was taken by David Wood's Oinksqueal, RS Elite 48, (one second and two third places), helmed by David and crewed by Fran Wood and David Brown. Seven RS Elites competed in the event, with races held over the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of Burnham week. The first day saw a generally light westerly wind. Racing was held in the River Crouch. Legs Eleven returned to clear the line following an individual recall and then went on to win after a long beat back to the finish. With a strong and gusty southerly on day two, racing was held in the river Roach, resulting in another win for Legs Eleven. Day three saw a return to the Crouch in a less strong wind than on the previous day, with Moonlight Serenade taking the win and Legs Eleven second. The Burnham RS Elite fleet was the second to become established in the UK and is currently seeing a resurgence following a quiet period. All the boats in this event were local apart from class chairman Paul Fisk's Legs eleven who visited from Hayling Island. Overall Results:
