EVENT INFORMATION:
This exciting event will enable sailors from all over the world to race and socialise in the stunning Tønsberg fjord. Our Norwegian hosts are planning an exciting regatta where teams will follow a league format in boats provided by club members. You can enter as a team or if an individual we can create teams, you will need to state your preferred role / roles on the entry.
Tønsberg is the oldest town in Norway dating back to the 8th Century.

Provisional Programme
Thursday 1st August: Planned arrival during the afternoon with an evening reception at the sailing club with a light meal and drinks provided.
Friday 2nd August: Racing to take place on Friday with sandwich lunch and evening BBQ & drinks at the sailing club provided.
Saturday 3rd August: Racing to take place on Saturday with sandwich lunch and evening meal & drinks at the sailing club provided.
Sunday 4th August: Sunday morning is a spare day for racing if necessary and tourist excursions.
Depart for home on Sunday afternoon.
Travel Options: -
1)Oslo, Gardermoen (OSL+) - lots of flight choices from all London airport - with Norwegian, BA, KLM, Ryanair and SAS.
There is a train station at the airport with a direct connection to Tønsberg station 1hr 45 mins, with hourly departures, then 15 mins by car to the sailing club
Or Car hire from Oslo is about £200 for 4 days
2) Sandefjord, Torp (TRF) approx. 30 km to the sailing club with a direct train connection. Limited flights from Stansted with Ryanair.
You can also fly from Amsterdam or Copenhagen to TORP Sandefjord Airport.
Tonsberg town is about 10 km from the sailing club.
Accommodation
The Borge Hotell on Husøy is close to the sailing club and our Norwegian hosts have negotiated a discounted price for a block booking. Further details to follow. Breakfast is an additional £8 per person. See https://www.hotellborge.no
17 beds have been reserved at Borge Hotel, prices are very moderate, simple living in summer cottages, but beautiful surroundings and nice breakfast.
The rooms at Boorge are as follows;3 rooms with three beds including breakfast NOK 1450,- per room a night.2 rooms with x two beds including breakfast NOK 1100,- per room a night4 single rooms at NOK 800,- pr nightThe sailing club also currently have 2 spare twin rooms on-site at £60/room/night with a kitchenette to make your own breakfast and should be booked directly with the club.

KitAll you will need to bring is sailing clothing, après-sailing clothing, bar money and a sense of humour.
Price
The entry fee includes all the sailing costs plus lunches, evening meals and some drinks. Competitors will be expected to pay for some of their own drinks.
Competitors to pay for their own travel, accommodation, and breakfast.
Entry fee: Approx. £410 per competitor
For your information this is made up as follows:
Registration fee: NOK 2000 per boat; approx. NOK 700 per competitor
Lunches, drinks & evening meals: NOK 3,000 per competitor, non-sailing guests are welcome, and they would only have to pay this fee (~£229)
Access/hire of a sailboat: NOK 5,000 per team; about NOK 1,650 per competitor
Total: NOK 5350 per sailor; about £410 per competitor
Approx Exchange rate £1 = 13 NOK
Fee to include boat, entry fee, and meals and drinks as described above, (this may change slightly nearer the time due to exchange rates). FYI 1 pint of beer at the yacht club is approx £6.00. The alcohol allowance at duty-free is quite generous - the equivalent of 4 bottles of wine. The club is happy for us to bring our own drinks to the club.
How to enter
Deposits of NOK 1000 per person need to be paid by 28th Febuary on RS League Sailing manage2sail Using the information provided, the organiser will work with the entrants to form teams and allocate boats. Once the teams are finalised the organisers will update RS League Sailing manage2sail so the team leaders can organise final payments for the team by 30th April. Free cancellation will be available until 31st May, and then 50% returned thereafter until 1st August.
Non Sailors will be able to pay for their hospitality on RS League Sailing manage2sail NOK 3000
Tønsberg Seilforening have agreed to give a full refund to anyone cancelling before 31st May.
Insurance
Competitors to provide their own holiday insurance.
